Chancel Choir: Our adult choral group under the direction of Jeremy Matheis, our Director of Music, ranges in size from 20-30 singers and performs most Sundays at our 10 AM worship service. We are always open for more voices and encourage everyone who has an interest to join us for rehearsal; no choir experience needed! We rehearse on Wednesday evening from 7:30 - 9 PM and Sunday morning at 9:30 – 10 AM. When we are preparing for our Christmas and Easter Cantata’s we extend our rehearsal to two hours and we spend the first hour working on our Cantata, so that other members of our community who wish to join us for these exciting performances, will have that opportunity. The choir generally sings September - May with special solo/ensemble opportunities available during the summer.
Bell Choir: Our bell choir meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month and rehearses from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. They are also under the direction of our Music Director, Jeremy Matheis. We play on average of once a month throughout the year and for special holidays like Christmas and Easter. We are currently about 11 members but have bells for up to twenty members and encourage all who are interested to attend one of our rehearsals and try it out! Ringing bells is actually quite simple and if you can read music it makes it all that much easier. Music reading is however, not necessary to ring with us.
Children's Choir: The Children's Choir meets every Sunday right before Sunday school in Perry Hall. This is an informal gathering of all the children to come together and learn songs. They currently have co-directors: Jeremy Matheis, Marilyn Pray and Sue Haas. The children regularly sing during the service on Sunday mornings throughout the year, and perform a special pageant for Christmas.
Instrumentalists: We have many special performances of our local talent throughout the year. If you can play an instrument and would like to share your talent with the congregation, please talk to our Director of Music Jeremy Matheis.
Vocal Soloists: There are many opportunities throughout the year to sing solo works and songs. We attempt to include as many solo voices as possible during Christmas, Easter and especially the summer months when the choir is taking a break. If you are interested in solo opportunities, contact our Director of Music Jeremy Matheis.
Sandpoint Youth Choir: Sandpoint Youth Choir is a newly forming group of 7 year olds and above in a bit more of a formal setting. We are aiming to rehearse immediately after the service, during the first part of fellowship hour in the Choir Room.
